Adopt-A-Plot

Approximately 75% of all Veterans nationwide are buried in local community cemeteries, not in the prestigious federally funded National and State Veteran cemeteries that often see thousands of volunteers devote time to each year. Many of these community cemeteries are in Texas, located within a short drive of most neighborhoods. Sadly, most of these Veterans and their graves have been forgotten, left without visitors to honor them for decades.

To help combat this and bring families and community to these sacred grounds the WRRF created the ADOPT-A-PLOT project.

HOW IT WORKS

Adopt-A-Plot is FREE and only requires a modest commitment: ONE VISIT A YEAR to a veterans grave site of your choice. It’s a small gesture, but one that has a huge impact on if a veteran is remembered or forgotten for the year.

By participating in Adopt-A-Plot, you’re not just visiting a grave; you’re standing in solidarity with the service men and women who dedicated their lives to our nation. You’re making a tangible impact in your community and helping ensure that our heroes, no matter where they’re buried, are honored and remembered.
